Well, everyone, I have big news. By far the biggest news ever announced on this blog. I'm getting married! Chris proposed this weekend, and I gleefully said yes, and now I have a gorgeous ring on my finger and we're making plans for the future. We're looking at late spring 2005 for the wedding, and I'll let you all know once we pick a date. I'm so excited! I know it's soon but it feels so right. I love him so much and I'm so excited to spend the rest of our lives together. Right now we're going out with Sarah to celebrate. More details to come.

I'm back from camp and all is well. I see Blogger has many new features, including bulleted list capability, which I intend to take full advantage of as often as possible.

As far as the past several weeks go, there's so much I want to say and so little that will be understood. Here's the very, very condensed version, leaving out several chapters.

This summer, I was Director of Outdoor Skills, making me the direct supervisor for six 17-year-old staff members. They're awesome guys and some of them are good friends, so that part of my job was relatively easy. We ran good programs despite being rather short on supplies and shafted on facilities.

Halfway through the summer, the program director (that's the guy in charge of all the staff other than the kitchen and business office) had to leave camp for the rest of the season, which made Chris the guy in charge, with no assistant. He then delegated most of his extra responsibilities, making me Chief of CIT's. At first I was excited to be getting the extra responsibility, and to be one of the inner circle. Later, though, I found that this meant I got stuck being the CITs' mommy, which was no fun. I mean, it was cool when my scoutcraft boys started calling me Mom, but they were joking! But I did have some really awesome CITs, and I managed to steal most of them for myself. So here's to you: Red, Rookie, Lunchbox, Sticky, and Princess.

That's all for now. Chris and I are hanging out at my place watching movies and being bums. We cooked lasagna today, and oh, it was good. We're about to watch Mr. Holland's Opus, which he has only seen once. He's a music ed major, I'll remind you, so this movie should be drilled into his brain, which I intend to do. Bwah ha ha!
