Yes, it's been two months. I've been at camp, with very limited internet access. It's been all I can do to keep my inbox from overflowing with junk mail. So that's why I haven't been online or added to this blog lately.
Here's the summary: Camp was great. I worked the COPE course for a month until I got fed up with my boss and the camp decided they needed me more elsewhere, so I got moved to Scoutcraft. I missed Scoutcraft a lot when I wasn't there, and I'm definately going to be SC director next year.
More importantly, I met a guy. Remember how vehemently I swore off camp boys after James? Well, all that went out the window when I saw Chris again for the first time in a year. Last year we had both just hooked up with other people before camp started so there was no possibility of anything happening. But this year, everything just felt right about it. I like him a lot, and we got really close quickly, being as camp is sort of condensed time. He's now gone back to Kentucky, where he goes to college, studying to be a professional band geek. We promised to stay together despite the distance, but it's so hard. I miss him terribly. I haven't felt this way about anyone in a long time...maybe ever. I brought him home to meet my folks and they like him, of course, because he's wonderful.
I'm checking on a couple short-term jobs at the Evergreen State Fair and Puyallup Fair in hopes of earning a lot of money in a short time. We'll see how that goes. I already have a bad attitude about going back to work, but I do really need the money for college. Hopefully I can live at camp during the first fair, since it's in Monroe and camp is a half hour drive away (as opposed to an hour and a half to get home from there.) Plus living at camp is fun.
