Damn it! I missed Talk Like a Pirate Day AGAIN! This is 3 years in a row that I've found out the day afterward. Le sigh.

I recieved my absentee ballot in the mail today, without its accompanying voter information packet that explains who these people are that I'm voting for. Not such a big deal, though, because there is exactly one (ONE!) item on the ballot: County Auditor. And it's a mystery why it's taken me this long to get Chris to vote--to even get him registered correctly so he can vote? Pretty messed up.

Finally, someone who's speaking my language. (Brought to my attention by Mistress Matisse.) Read it first, then we'll talk. A timely little article, too, since I just drove to Seattle and back in the span of 24 hours.

Okay, I've been meaning to do a post about what I call lane theory for the longest time. I was developing a complex set of rules that should be followed in order to ease traffic congestion and frustration on freeways. But it turns out it can all be summed up in one rule--which happens to be a law, as well--KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS. So, if you're not actively and quickly passing someone, you should stay to the right. This is an easy concept, and it's marked by signs along the freeway. Why does nobody get it? GRRR.

I'm sitting at Sarah's desk in my old (old) apartment in Seattle. It almost feels like I never left. I have missed this girl since I left, and I have missed the city too. I don't regret at all my decision to marry Chris and move to Ellensburg, but I can see how my life would have gone on if I had stayed. My first two and a half years of college were fun and awesome--I got to live with my best friend, stay up until two in the morning watching Madonna music videos, walk down Broadway at midnight for ice cream, and eat the best sushi in the world--and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
