Money is disgusting.

Now, I don’t mean this in a “Money is the root of all evil” sort of way; I don’t mean that wealth corrupts, or that greed makes people crazy, though those may be true as well. I mean that the bills and coins themselves are physically filthy.

Have you ever counted money? Like, a LOT of money at once. It’s not until you do that you notice that money has a distinct smell, one that is related to the grime on it, but deeper too. It’s not until you’ve spent twenty minutes counting one-dollar bills that you realize money has a distinct taste that invades your throat.

Remember that cartoon show where Scrooge McDuck would go swimming in his vault of money? Nothing seems more foul to me now than that image.

In short, I hope I never have to deal with this much cash again.
